However, the more expensive editions of this game bundle digital PS4 or PS5 copies

Horizon Forbidden West, a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, can now be pre-ordered before its February 18th, 2022 release date for PS4 or PS5. However, if you plan to play the game both on PS4 or on PS5, there is no cross-gen upgrade.

Instead, you’ll have to buy the more expensive versions of the game that offer digital copies for both the PS4 and PS5 or start with PS4 and buy an entirely new PS5 copy of the game later at its total price. Sony has stated that they have no plans to introduce any upgrade in the future. However, you can transfer your saves from the PS4 to the PS5 versions.

The $79.99 Digital Deluxe Edition is the most expensive. It includes the $199.99 Collector’s Edition and the $259.99 Regalla Edition. You will get Horizon Forbidden West digital versions on PS4 as well as PS5 in a single package. On the other hand, the Standard Edition will be $59.99 for PS4 and $69.99 for PS5. There’s also a Special Edition for PS4 that costs $69.99, which offers a digital soundtrack, a “mini art book,” and comes in a Steelcase box. (There’s a separate PS5 version of that edition, too.)

CROSS-GEN UPGRADES ARE NOT AVAILABLE.

Sony has been open to upgrading some of its titles. Sony allows customers to upgrade from the PS4 and the PS5 Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut to Death Stranding. __S.34__ The Horizon Forbidden West case is the exception. There’s no cross-gen upgrade option. Sony’s asking you to pay at least $20 extra upfront to be able to eventually play the game on a system you may not even have yet.

Horizon Forbidden West’s Collect’s and Regalla editions won’t include discs for fans who like to collect physical copies of video games. Instead, they will have a download code that allows you to play Horizon Forbidden West on PS4 and PS5. However, the more expensive editions will offer additional bonuses, such as statues of large elephant-like machines. You can read all about what’s available in each edition on Sony’s blog.

Sony showcased some fantastic footage of Horizon Forbidden West back in May. We may see more of it at the newly announced PlayStation showcase on September 9th. We’ll be adding the latest announcements to this page, so stay tuned.
