Cyberpunk 2077 will let you more easily reset your character’s perks in the upcoming 1.3 patches, according to a new blog post from developer CD Projekt Red. This new feature is available ahead of the next-gen update, released sometime in the year. It could be helpful to anyone who wants to get back into the game and change the way their character plays.
You can see the new feature in action in a video from the developer, which shows that you’ll have to pay some in-game currency to reset your perks. You can already reset your bonuses, but it’s pretty expensive to do so — this new option seems to be much more affordable.
The reset feature does not allow you to change your attributes (the five main traits that make up the skill tree and house the various perks), so you won’t wholly respec your character. The reset feature is a cheaper option if you don’t feel you have the right perks or build your character differently.
Patch 1.3 will also bring improvements to the mini-map you see when driving. In the new update, the mini-map appears to be more zoomed out than it was before. This update will hopefully make it easier for you to see where you need to go. I was often distracted by unexpected turns that appeared on the map.
CD Projekt Red has not yet revealed a date for patch 1.3’s release, but the developer promised that it would be “coming soon” with a complete list of changes to 1.3. After Cyberpunk 2077’s troubled launch, the studio has issued numerous updates. The latest roadmap, last updated July 1, shows that the developer will release free DLCs and a next-generation console update sometime this year.
