The official release of the game will take place on September 28th

The New World PC MMO from Amazon is now open for beta, Amazon Games announced Wednesday at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. The open beta will be held from September 9th through September 12th.

Players will have the chance to test out the game in public beta before it launches on September 28th. Amazon Games released a trailer for its upcoming MMO, which showcases more of New World’s supernatural world.

New World‘s open beta follows a well-received closed beta and should give more people a chance to try out the game before it officially launches. Like other Amazon Games games, the game has had a turbulent history. The latest delay to September 28th was due to the game’s fourth. However, the open beta may be an opportunity for Amazon and others to resolve any issues before New World launches.

New World is available for preorder now, starting at $39.99. The game will not require a monthly subscription, unlike other MMOs.
